Kurmanayevsky District is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the thirty-five in Orenburg Oblast, Russia. It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,900 square kilometers (1,100 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality of Kurmanayevka. Population: 17,705 ; 21,364 (2002 Census); 23,239 (1989 Soviet census). The population of Kurmanayevka accounts for 24.4% of the district's total population.
